About Me
Thank you for visiting my blog and website
I have been a nurse for seven years and still love my job. I started blogging and sharing my story to encourage and inspire others to become and grow in nursing.
My mission and passion have been to become the best nurse I can be and help others to do the same.
I stumbled every step on my journey to becoming a nurse. I had two young children, went to nursing school full-time, and worked as a nursing assistant in a metro hospital. I had to learn quickly how to study, take nursing exams and juggle life.
I am resilient by nature. I failed the NCLEX in 75 questions (don’t take a pregnancy test the night before your exam) then turn around and passed the NCLEX in 75 questions. I’ve been “eaten” by older nurses and had great mentors in other nurses. I have evolved from being a first-generation college student, to a leader on my hospital unit. I have come full circle and now have the opportunity to work as an adjunct faculty at the university I attained my nursing degree from, St. Catherine University in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
I have worked in critical access hospitals, clinics, and acute care med-surg and progressive care. I am currently working towards my Masters of Arts in Nursing.
I live in the Twin Cities, Minnesota with my husband and now four children.
